After some malicious attempts by the local cat, the weight-reduction program is resumed, the bird gets back to his normal weight and is ready for a test flight at a public park, for which the whole town turns out. The robin finally soars into the air and performs all sorts of aerial acrobatics and singing lustily and triumphantly. Then, in a surprise twist of role reversal, the grateful robin shows his appreciation by coaxing, cajoling, and exhorting the boy into regaining the use of his disabled leg. And soon, the boy himself is running, jumping, leapfrogging, and performing terrestrial acrobatics of his own.

When Susan asks why she's crying, a Bee flies in and tells Susan Little Billy's piano teacher gave them all to him to play, and he did such a terrible job everyone left, and now they're lonely. Susan offers to write a new song and gradually the other notes, now a Centipede, a Daisy, and Eagle, a Fairy, and a Ghost come back. Susan has great difficulty getting everyone to co-operate, but eventually she succeeds in writing a song with all their help.
